Shondalae

Author Photo 090523.jpg

Hello. My name is Shondalae and my autistic superpower is writing. In 2023 I became a published author and have written many books since!

Now, I want to use my gift to help other neurodivergent understand the world and themselves and to help neurotypical people understand people who are neurodivergent.

Through my faith, I have a foundation of incredible joy and peace despite all the challenges I face and it is the deepest desire of my heart to share it with the world, also.

Whether you believe in God or not, whether you have disabilities or want to learn more about someone who does, if you want to learn about the depths of the heart, you're in the right place.

Books I've Written

About me!

For a very long time I've wanted to write an autobiography. I feel like my life has had a lot in it that can help people. But it's too complex! There is so much I've experienced and gone through that I could never simplify it. As the ideas for the sequels to The Great Giver of Life dropped into my head I realized that my books could become my autobiography. The things I have learned in life and observed in other people are the meat of the stories. I can share about autism, theology and other things through the characters in my books.

Some things in my life are too serious for the Giver Chronicles. My hope is that someday I can write another series of books designed for older readers that digs deeper into some of the things I've experienced. For now, I'm writing for non-readers and young readers. I want to present things in an easy to read format that anyone of almost any age and skill level can get through. And I think I've started off right! For one of my readers told me, "I'm not a reader. My wife is the reader. I was the trouble maker. And I loved it!"

And so, I continue on in that vein with the sequels in Giver Chronicles and pray that someday I will have the chance to go deeper.

"Shondalae is my new favorite author. For many years I would say my favorite author was C. S. Lewis. I think Shondalae has a similar spirit, with a very contemporary perspective. Her wit and character development make poignant juxtaposition to spiritual issues of the populous at large. Additionally this is from an appreciative outlook of real life challenges. Her light and often comical prose ignites a curiosity when reading. Kudos to a blossoming thinker, writer and artist."
